Snehalata Bhatikar won an award from the Konkani Bhasha Mandal for the Konkani version of Smothering &Mothering titled Palak Ani Bhurgim. The same book also won her a literary award for the year 1999-2000 from the Kala Academy, Govt. of Goa. she is currently serving as a Juvenile Justice Board, Govt. of Goa as well as member of the state Advisory Council on Education, Govt. of Goa. The present book is an English version of her Konkani book Palak Anni Bhurgim.
