MAHANAND MAKES TIATR DEBUT!

Nov 14th, 2009 | Category: Tiatr

WRITER, DIRECTOR and producer Tony Dias must surely be a happy man. His theatrical experiment on Mahanand Naik, the dreaded serial killer, entitled Mahanand Monis vo Soitan? on the Konkani stage has paid rich dividends. After waiting for tickets, I finally got the opportunity to watch the show at Gomant Vidya Niketan last Friday. Despite having staged the show at the same venue over 27 times, the show was still houseful and I had to literally pester Damu at the booking counter for a single ticket.

Having served the Konkani stage for 33 years, she has been part of Prince Jacob’s troupe for the last 22 years, since 1987. That in itself is a record which very few artists can boast of.

EKSIDDENT – GOA’S DEADLIEST KILLER

Oct 12th, 2009 | Category: Tiatr

ACCIDENTS ARE commonplace on the roads of Goa. The incidence of accidents increases every year. They cause pain, suffering and bring about misery and permanent physical handicap and, in some cases, even death. The consequences of a road accident and the implications of the same can be nerve shattering as well as lead to depression. Tomazinho Cardozo drove home this point very effectively in his latest drama, Eksiddent, staged by his theatre group Kala Mogi as part of the Kala Academy tiatr competition.
