Rajan Narayan was born in Pune on July 4, 1947. After doing his primary education in Pune, he shifted to Banglore where he completed his schooling and his graduation with BA Honours in Economics. Rajan Narayan started his journalistic career as a sub-editor in the Financial Express, the financial daily of the Indian Express Group in 1968. He resigned FROM THE Indian Express in 1976 and joined the Onlooker magazine as assistant editor.
